This is a meat processing plant generating bacon products. Two of four oven units consisting of a base unit and 35 feet of 16"-18" duct, all stainless steel were insulated. The internal temperature of the units is approximately 350°F (176°C). The units are exhausting hot oven air as part of an oil recapture process allowing for water to escape in the hot air exhaust. The insulation will minimize condensation occurring inside the exhaust assembly. The objective is to bring the surface temperatures down to a maximum of 120°F (49°C). This will not only save energy, meet OSHA requirements for worker safety but also make for a better working environment. A system of HPC® COATING was applied first to reduce the surface temperature down followed by a coat of MOIST METAL GRIP® and 2 additional coats of RUST GRIP® to protect the HPC® COATING from daily cleaning with a caustic solution.
