In this particular application, the customer chose SUNSHIELD ® ( Vancouver Shipyards prefers the extra effective durability, fire and thermal protection provided by SUPERTHERM ® ) and did their own application. They applied the first coat of SUNSHIELD ® with a brush and sprayed on the second coat.
Various (shaded) areas can be seen where the SUPERTHERM ® has not been applied as per specification. The customer has been advised to touch up these areas using the cross hatch method to ensure proper and complete effective coverage, protection and performance.
The Engine Compartment was also coated with SUNSHIELD ® to control condensation by controlling effective thermal transfer ( ie. repelling heat = no dew point being reached )
