DESCRIPTION :
FYRE-GARDE ® is a multifunctional, colourless, odourless and NON-TOXIC \ ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY solution which renders any porous material incapable of supporting a flame.

APPLICATIONS :
FYRE-GARDE ® has been used extensively as a FLAME RETARDANT, SMOKE SUPPRESSANT, AFTER GLOW SUPPRESSANT, WOOD PRESERVATIVE, WOOD BORING INSECT DETERRENT, FUNGICIDE AND FABRIC SIZING. Effective on but not limited to Curtains, Drapes, Carpets, Wallpaper, Unfinished Wood, Upholstery, Foam, Clothing, Sheets, Blankets, Mattresses, Paper, etc..

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS :
Impregnation techniques include pressurized impregnation, spraying, soaking, dipping, etc.. Material to be treated must be dry and free of any residues of cleaning fluid, gasoline, naphtha gas, oil, etc. which can inhibit effectiveness. Lined material must be treated on both sides. After laundering, shampooing, steam cleaning, etc. material must be re-treated. Apply two or three light sprayings for best results. Avoid over saturation. Materials do not have to dry between sprayings.

SHAKE WELL AND TEST ALL PIECES OF MATERIAL FIRST FOR BEST RESULTS.

COVERAGE :
FYRE-GARDE ® will protect an area of approximately 50 - 150 square feet per litre depending on the material to be treated. ie. heavy synthetic fiber as opposed to a sheer natural fiber, hardwoods as opposed to softwoods, etc. All porous materials can be treated to a wide range of retention depending on the degree of fire retardancy required and the nature of the material to be treated.

TESTING :
UNDERWRITERS LABORATORIES, WARNOCK HERSEY FIRE LABORATORIES, major international companies including BOEING AIRCRAFT CORPORATION, MACMILLAN BLOEDEL, as well as government safety agencies across North America and abroad have tested FYRE-GARDE ® ( formerly RETARD-A-FLAME ® ) as a flame retardant. UNDERWRITERS LABORATORIES ( UL ) gave FYRE-GARDE ® ( formerly RETARD-A-FLAME ® ) a calculated flame spread rating of 23.94 and 21.73 in the ASTM E84 " STEINER TUNNEL TEST " which represents a Class A or Class 1 rating.
